Expertise
Production AI and automation, air-gapped and field software, secure hardware integration, and Type 1 delivery experience, for commercial and defense teams alike.
Where we're strongest
Our work spans commercial products and defense programs. What they share is that failure modes are operational. The software moves money, writes to records, programs hardware, or runs where there's no network to fall back on.
We work with product companies, primes, integrators, and engineering teams. Sometimes we're embedded senior capacity inside their organization; sometimes we're the team that delivers the whole project.
AI agents with human gates
AI is useful when it can act, and that is also when it is dangerous. We've helped put an AI assistant into production where it writes to financial records and texts customers. It runs behind:
- A single model gateway with named routes, fallbacks, and per-tenant cost attribution, so the application's model calls are routed, metered, and attributed to each tenant
- Risk-tiered permissions in the client's platform: an action runs automatically with an audit record, is suggested, or waits for a human
- Isolated asynchronous services for heavy model work, with per-tenant limits and recovery after restarts
- Security audits of the surrounding application, including privilege escalation and cross-tenant access
We hold our own delivery to the same rules. Our AI coding pipeline lets agents work tickets, but QA is a hard stop for a human, production deploys need human permission, and every run has a stop switch, retry caps, and an audit trail. See the work →
Air-gapped software ecosystems
Some of our engagements sit in environments where the network is the exception, not the assumption. We design and build software that:
- Operates reliably without continuous connectivity to public infrastructure
- Integrates with secure hardware—radios, modules, and purpose-built devices—not only standard enterprise APIs
- Supports disconnected workflows, deferred sync, and operator-facing UX under field constraints
- Treats trust boundaries, data handling, and failure recovery as first-class design inputs
This is not "offline mode" as a feature flag. It is systems architecture for environments where a wrong assumption about connectivity or trust can invalidate the product.
In practice: for a federal security program, we built the offline tool that provisions wireless field devices over a custom serial protocol from a self-contained offline installer. Virtual serial ports and simulated devices let the whole workflow be tested without the hardware. Case study →
On-prem AI gateways and edge hardware
Defense and intelligence customers need modern tooling, including AI, without sending sensitive data to public cloud. We can take the gateway-first architecture above on-prem:
- Gateway and routing layers that keep inference and data inside the facility
- Hardware selection and integration for edge deployment (compute, acceleration, storage, lifecycle)
- Pipelines that balance model capability with power, thermals, air gap, and maintainability
- Interfaces that make complex backends usable for operators and integrators
We bridge product thinking and systems engineering: what the user needs at the console, and what has to be true in the rack.
Type 1 encryption and NSA program experience
Our bench includes engineers with seven years of experience building Type 1 encryption devices in support of NSA programs. That work shapes how we approach every hard system:
- Cryptographic and protocol correctness under formal requirements
- Development processes aligned with certification and audit expectations
- Hardware–firmware–software co-design when the device is the security boundary
- Documentation, traceability, and change control as delivery artifacts, not paperwork debt
We do not claim clearance or endorsements on this page—we claim relevant, repeated delivery in the most demanding class of embedded security products. The deep dive happens on a call.
Full product lifecycle, same team
| Phase | What we bring |
|---|---|
| Strategy & requirements | Feasibility, scope, and technical risk assessment early—before commitments harden |
| UX / UI | Interfaces that work for operators and practitioners, not just demo paths |
| Architecture | System design, integration boundaries, and decisions that survive production |
| Implementation | Senior developers shipping maintainable code—not throwaway prototypes |
| Iteration | Code review, integration support, and ongoing product refinement |
We can be the senior layer your team plugs in, or the team that owns delivery from start to finish. Either way, you don't end up with a parallel organization to manage around.
Commercial product engineering
Much of our recent delivery is commercial: multi-tenant SaaS, AI features and agents, third-party integrations, and scheduled automation. We bring product strategy, SaaS architecture, integration work, security review, and hands-on development, either embedded in your team's workflow or as an end-to-end build.
